Gliders

  • November 17, 2013 windy today, perfect for a Weasel flight! I was a bit rusty after a while flying the Weasel Evo. Chilly too!

  • July 17, 2013 flying my Weasel Evo in so so winds! Gusty as hell and in an angle to the overpass. Good shooting from hitting the wire!

  • July 15, 2013 flew my Weasel at the Ladner overpass. Wind was not great however I had a good time!

  • June 1, 2013 second time around at the Cerro Villonaco by the wind generators in Loja – Ecuador.  The day looked same, partialy overcast and strong winds. This time I brought my anemometer to verify the wind speed.  Between 9 to 11 knots.  Coming straight up and no turbulence at all. Located at 2,800 meters above sea level the main problem here is “how to land.”  Well… I mean in one piece! Yesterday I was fortunate enough to make it happen.  Flying was phenomenal.  Had the chance to practice rolling big time as you can see in the video. I used a GoPro Black edition with wide angular lens at 1080 and 60 fps if I am not wrong.

  • May 28, 2013 is the best day in my life flying the Weasel Evo. I am in Ecuador, Loja City and the place is called Cerro Villonaco. On the top of the mountain circa 2,800 meters above sea level there is a 11 wind generator park call “Parque Eolico Villonaco” From my Hotel room I can see the wind generators spinning all day long. Air is super clean and comes as a true lift. I gathered it was only 8 to 10 knots but coming from the bottom of these steep hills straight up. This time I didn’t have to worry about keeping the plane in the air, in contrary the problem was how to land the plane! I end up having to crash land it.

  • April 23, 2013 not a lot of wind but… enough to have fun flying both the Weasel Evo and the Alula Evo.  After that… sailing!

  • April 21, 2013 flying the Weasel after a huge storm with tons of wind and rain.  I still need to edit the footage.  This is for sure one of my best days ever flying.  It’s funny I find myself saying this quite often.  It might just be that I have so much fun!

  • April 20, 2013 went flying on a not that windy day, always fun to fly the Weasel and the Alula.  Chad continues exploring the envelope of these two birds with great deal of detail!! Ends up in the repair bench… still lots of fun.

  • April 10, 2013 flying the Weasel good winds between 16 to 22 knots (knotachos!) Lots of aerobatics, tons of fun using 2 ounces of ballast to keep the planes flying ahead of us!

  • April 8, 2013 On my way to get gas… couldn’t help it. Had to fly for short 20 minutes

  • April 7, 2013 awesome wind. We flew for 3 hours. First day doing aerobatics with the weasel. Great plane.

  • April 6, 2013 flying with Chad. The Weasel and the Alula.

  • April 6, 2013 flying with Chad, different video. This is actually the second time, but really the first time that the Weasel’s are staying up in the air. Fun… so much fun!

  • March 31, 2013 back in Canada flying the Alula

  • March 24, 2013 in Peru, about 50 km South of Lima in Pucusana. This is my second flight of the day. Phenomenal wind and lovely hill with a super strong lift. Flew half a battery.

  • March 23, 2013 flying in Lapa Lapa, Peru on a beautiful day. Great wind to keep the Alula for a long time. I used 251 from the 300 mA from the battery. Great flight including some Jotes on camera. Did rolls and loops.

  • March 10, 2013 in Lapa Lapa, Peru. Better wind, was able to keep her for more than 1.5 hours flying.

  • March 9, 2013 flying the Alula for the first time in Lapa Lapa, Peru. Not enough wind.

  • February 22, 2013 Scratch made Weasel. NEED HELP to get this bird flying the right way! Suggestions accepted

  • February 27, 2013 The most amazing plane I’ve got. The Alula Evo is phenomenal. It flies and flies and flies forever. I did one hour flight. This is my second day sloping with the Alula. I am HAPPY! I am getting better and better at flying the Alula. Put 175 mA in the battery after the flight.

  • February 23, 2013 as every Saturday we went flying early. Soon after the wind came up and the kids arrived for soccer at the Park. We went to the Maritime Museum to fly the Alulas in a discrete ridge by the water. I shoot videos but didn’t noticed that the camera had the cup. At noon Chad texted excited to fly the Alula. We took off to Tssawassen looking for an overpass to get lift. The rest is in the video. Hope you enjoy it.

  • February 8, 2013 About 12 knots of wind, too much for the Alula… perhaps just me. The spot is perfect, great for sloping!

  • February 2, 2013 the start of the Evo era. 2 minutes was the world!!

  • February 6, 2013 I flew the Radian Pro glider for the first time today. Tricky at the begining and after few minutes I got the hang of it. Lots of power climbing and easy landings. Don’t need a huge park to fly it. Fun!
